Maintenance

The MacGregor 26 is as maintenance- free as it is possible for a boat to be.

The rigging is of anodized aluminum and stainless steel. The fibreglass hull and deck require only an occasional waxing. The complete lack of exterior woodwork, means that there is no time-consuming wood to maintain or refinish.

Resale value on the MacGregor 26 has remained high in relation to the value of boats stored in the water. Because of the solid fiberglass laminates used in the construction process, these boats seem to have no age limit. Free of rusting and refinishing, many of the boats, after ten years, still look as good as the day they left the factory.

If you really can't keep your hands off your boat, you may choose to keep it at home. This way you can save money by not having to pay mooring fees and you can give it a quick polish whenever you like!
